Artypes Salon 3 ‘Portrait’

The third of the Artypes Salons was prompted by "Portrait." 68 portraits from over 50 artists. Shown one night only on September 20, 2012, in the upstairs gallery at 70 North 6th St. in Williamsburg that Ben Sisto runs between Public Assembly and Cubana Social (aptly named P.A.C.S. Gallery). It was the first Salon outside of Archie's apartment. We were worried about that, but it was insane. Packed to the gills for 5 hours. Melissa Cullens took the time to make a brilliant self-portrait in oil. Jan Wilker showed "art" for the first time. Alexandra Rubenstein pulled off something extremely surreal, and Labour, for the second Salon in a row, exhibited a beautiful projection. We were happy with every fucking piece in that show.
